Dr. Chard is the VA CPT Implementation Director, overseeing the dissemination of CPT to VA clinicians across the United States. She is the author of the CPT for Sexual Abuse treatment manual and is co-author of the Cognitive Processing Therapy: Military/Veteran Version manual. Dr. Chard is Co-Chair of a 17-site study comparing CPT to Prolonged Exposure in US Veterans and she is an Associate Editor of the Journal of Traumatic Stress.

At the conclusion of this training workshop, participants should be able to:
1. Describe PTSD symptoms and theory underlying CPT
2. List pre-treatment issues and recommended assessment measures
3. Demonstrate knowledge and skills required to implement CPT, an evidence-based psychotherapy for PTSD
4. Describe the different formats of group CPT and when they would be appropriate
The target audience for this training includes physicians, nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialists, psychologists, social workers and counselors. Specifically, we are targeting:
-mental health clinicians who regularly provide psychotherapy to individuals with PTSD
-clinicians who are enthusiastic about learning and implementing a cutting edge therapy, such as CPT.

CPT Provider Status
Anyone wishing to obtain CPT provider status must also complete 20 weeks of group phone consultation with Dr. Chard following the training. These sessions are typically around $25/week. This is NOT included in the training registration. It is optional and is for those who want CPT Provider Status and to be listed on the CPT Provider Roster on the CPT website. Participant will schedule with and pay Dr. Chard directly.
